GRADUATION YEAR

2017

WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST TAKEAWAY FROM YOUR SEA FELLOWSHIP?

I can be an entrepreneur. Previous to my SEA experience, I thought you were either born one or not. I didn't have an interest in business, but I learned that entrepreneurship is simply sharing your talents with the world in a way that only you can, solving someone else's problem along the way.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO AN ASPIRING ENTREPRENEUR THINKING ABOUT STARTING THEIR OWN BUSINESS?

Do it. Start small. Focus on what is in front of you. Your brain will tell you all the reasons you can't do it. But if you turn the obstacles into strategies, you have a road map to success. Your brain is designed to tell you those things--it’s not a problem. But do it anyway.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO A LOCAL ASPIRING ENTREPRENEUR THINKING ABOUT BECOMING A SEA FELLOW?

Also, do it. No matter your entrepreneur level (I started at 0) you'll gain so much from this experience. Go all in, commit to the process and you’ll have a fantastic skill set to take with you, no matter if you pursue entrepreneurship in the future or not.

HOW DID YOU USE THE EDUCATION YOU RECEIVED FROM SEA?

Well... I started my coaching business! I am a Life Coach who helps others leave their pasts behind them and do epic things in their futures!

WHAT IS THE MISSION OF YOUR BUSINESS?

To help people say screw the odds, I'm going after what I want. I'll fail my way to success and follow my desires and Purpose here on this earth.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON?

This year I'm working on scaling to 6 figures. I'm also finishing my intensive life coaching cert from The Life Coach School.

DO YOU HAVE A PERSONAL (BUSINESS) PHILOSOPHY THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE?

Be authentic. Be brave. Fear, discomfort, and failure are created in the mind, not by the circumstances of our lives. Master your mind and learn to move towards those emotions and you'll have no limits.

WHERE CAN WE FOLLOW YOU ON SOCIAL MEDIA?

Reconnect with Rachel on Facebook and YouTube. Or just add me on FB - Rachel Shumway. My website is rachelshumway.com.

DID YOU NEED TO PIVOT YOUR BUSINESS DUE TO COVID, IF SO, WHAT DID YOU DO?

Yep. I moved 100% online.
